Simon Eaton Nelson GC Club Professional

Simon Eaton was appointed professional at Nelson Golf Club in June 2007.
He is certainly no stranger to the local golf scene. He started playing as a 13-year-old, and  went on to be junior captain at Burnley and represented both ELGA boys and Lancashire Boys before turning professional at the age of 18.
In the time since he has played full-time on both the EuroPro Tour and the Tamsel tour, as well as working as an assistant for John Twissell at Clitheroe, Bill Tye at Burnley, Steve Nicholls at Rossendale and Neil Reeves, from whom he took over at Nelson.
Still a competitive gofer, Simon has reached final qualifying for the Open Championship on five occasions and had a close look at that event, working for Eddie Birchenough when the Open was at Royal Lytham.
Simon Eaton has also coached for the Scottish Golf Union and is now settling in to his new role at Nelson Golf Club.

Nelson Golf club boasts some of the best coaching and practice facilities in Lancashire, including a large practice area, bunker and chipping green and the indoor GASP video swing analysis programme as seen on Sky Sports, Simon is looking forward to working with the council, members and visitors alike.
Since taking over at Nelson, Simon has completely restocked his shop and is now offering a wide range of leading brands for golfers of all standards.
Simon's Head Assistant,  Sam Punchard,  had been an assistant at Towneley GC for the last three years and turned professional in 2006.
Clitheroe-based, he started playing as a 14-year-old. Sam was the first junior captain at Mytton Fold and is a former member of the ELGA team.
